Scope for Improvement 2008
BACKGROUND
In 2006 Blake Dawson undertook, in conjunction with the Australian Constructors Association, an industry wide study focusing on project pressure points throughout the Australian construction/infrastructure industry.
The report, based on the findings of that study, was launched nationally in April 2006 and titled ‘Scope for Improvement’. That study surveyed over $20 billion worth of projects in the 3 year preceding period covering all industry sectors and from a multiple stakeholder perspective. A key finding of the report was that inadequate scoping of projects leads to major pressure points and delays and disputes in projects.
PURPOSE OF 2008 RESEARCH
In conjunction with the Australian Constructors Association and Infrastructure Partnerships Australia, Blake Dawson is conducting further research to delve deeper into the specific finding of the Scope for Improvement 2006 report that many projects are inadequately scoped.
As with Scope for Improvement 2006, the research findings will be compiled in a report assisting all industry participants in better developing project scope and improving the implementation and outcomes of their future projects.
